K2, a 28,250 foot mountain in Pakistan‘s Karakoram range, is the setting for this action–adventure featuring Chris O‘Donnell as an ambitious mountain climber who retires from the sport following a climbing accident that causes the death of his father. Three years later, he is forced to lead a rescue mission when his estranged sister (Robin Tunney) and other members of her team become stranded on K2 following an avalanche. The cast also includes Bill Paxton as a mountaineering billionaire whose inexperience collides with his arrogance, and Scott Glenn as the elder statesmen of the climbers. Martin Campbell ("GoldenEye") directs the action.
