Two strangers (Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher) journey to Las Vegas at the same to time forget their troubles and have some fun. The two of them take the "fun" part a little bit too far and meet in the midst of big night out when they have both had a few too many drinks and get caught up in the moment. The next morning they wake up together to discover they‘ve gotten married following their night of debauchery in Sin City, and one of them has won a huge jackpot after playing the other‘s quarter. After a judge passes a ruling, sentencing them to "six months hard marriage" and putting a freeze on their winnings for that time, the newlyweds devise ever–escalating schemes to undermine each other and get their hands on the money – only to find themselves falling in love amid the mutual backstabbing. In the beginning each sees the other as an obstacle to the money that is rightfully theirs and amidst the headaches and dollar signs can‘t for the life of them remember what they must have seen in each other. One thing is for sure, the only hope they‘ll ever have of getting together is if they forget all about the money.
