After successfully skewering Hollywood‘s scariest movie (as two of the writers on "Scary Movie"), romantic comedy franchises ("Date Movie") and Hollywood blockbusters ("Epic Movie"), writers/directors/producers Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer now set their sights on "300." The heroic Leonidas, armed with nothing but a leather codpiece and a cape, leads a ragtag group of 13 – count ‘em, 13! –– Spartans to defend their homeland against the invading Persians (whose ranks include Ghost Rider, Rocky Balboa, the Transformers, and a hunchbacked Paris Hilton).King Leonidas (Sean Maguire) takes a dedicated group of Spartans to the Hot Gates to defend his city against the advancing Persian horde and their god–king Xerxes (Ken Davitian)—Freidberg and Seltzer bloat the script with every classic pop culture reference imaginable. On the list are: Shrek, American Idol, Britney Spears, Transformers, Borat, and more. Kevin Sorbo of "Hercules: The Legendary Journey‘s" fame is aptly cast as a Spartan Captain, while Carmen Electra enjoys yet another role in a Hollywood spoof film.
