The subject of much internet speculation since its provocative trailer debuted in early July of 2007, producer J.J. Abrams‘s mystery shrouded production finds a powerful destructive force descending upon New York City. Directed by Matt Reeves, from a script by Drew Goddard, the film stars Michael Stahl–David, Mike Vogel, Odette Yustman, and Lizzy Caplan. At his Manhattan going–away party, a young man(Michael Stahl–David)is troubled by feelings for the girl he‘s coldly leaving behind. His budding relationship with Beth, (Odette Yustman), is cut short now that he‘s leaving for Japan and despite his decision, he still worries that he may not see her again. His friend Hud (T.J. Miller) parades around the party with a video camera, determined to capture everything on film. Then a sudden jolt shakes the building, a fireball explodes in the distance and the torn–off head of the Statue of Liberty comes to rest in the street. Confusion turns to panic as people try to escape a King Kong–sized creature attacking New York. Michael and his friends face a terrifying fight for survival and it‘s all captured on camera. | ||||
